InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced it has opened its first Crowne Plaza in Serbian capital Belgrade in the end of January 2014.

Delta Holding, the owner of the property since 2008, has signed a management agreement with IHG to revive the hotel into Crowne Plaza Belgrade. The hotel was initially opened in 1979 as InterContinental Belgrade, the company said in a press release.

IHG, based in the UK,  operates nine hotel brands, including Holiday Inn, InterContinental Hotels and Crowne Plaza. It has over 4,600 locations in nearly 100 countries worldwide, and another 1,000 hotels in development.
