US brand Marco’s Pizza signs franchise deal for 40 units in Puerto Rico

Ohio-based pizza chain Marco’s Pizza has signed a master franchise deal to open 40 units in Puerto Rico over the next nine years, the company said in November 2013.

Four Puerto Rican Marco’s units will operate by the end of 2014, the first one of which will open by March 2014.

The company has awarded the deal to the Tsavoussis brothers, the same franchise partners who own the rights for the brand in the Bahamas. The two brothers will collaborate with MP Puerto Rico Inc., which runs the franchises of The Taco Maker in Puerto Rico and Camille's Sidewalk Café.

“Marco's Pizza's growth in Puerto Rico comes on the heels of a monumental 2013 which will see more than 100 new Marco's franchises”, the pizza chain said in the press release.

Marco’s offers Italian-style pizzas made with fresh ingredients. The company was launched in 1978 and since then has expanded on both domestic and international level and aims at becoming the world’s fastest growing pizza franchise.

Marco’s Franchise currently operates some 400 stores in 30 states, the Bahamas and Panama. The company has signed 1,500 new franchise deals and expects to quadruple its units in the next years.
