GRILLiT, a Latin-Caribbean fusion restaurant concept, said it is opening a new type of unit – a stand-alone restaurant with a drive-through window mid-November 2013.

The new unit is located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and is operated by Priya Investments, which holds the master franchise rights for eight states.

“The state of Kentucky represents a great opportunity for GRILLiT. Our latest franchisee is committed to our vision and plans to aggressively execute our expansion objectives,” Ghazi Hajj, GRILLiT’s executive director, was quoted as saying in a statement on the company’s web site.

Priya Investments plans to develop a franchise chain of drive-through and stand alone units in its area of operation. It has signed a franchise agreement with GRILLiT for the development of 58 franchised units within the next five years across the states of Kentucky, New Jersey, Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.

Currently GRILLiT has two more company-owned restaurants in Florida and another franchise unit in Tennessee which opened earlier this year. The company plans to launch more units and to expand its network in other states.
