Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 by two brothers whose other job was as firemen. Firehouse Subs combines the love of the brothers to good food and serving the community.

 

The restaurant offers classic and specialty hot subs, cold subs, salads, sides and drinks. Only premium meats and cheeses are used as ingredients. Unique steaming process and a special recipe for sub rolls enhance the good taste of the Firehouse Subs. The company focuses on customer experience from both food and environment. The entire interior of the restaurant copies an authentic firehouse. An firefighter memorabilia and wall artwork contribute to a realistic one-of-a-kind firehouse experience. Even the items on the menu are firefighting-themed like the hook and ladder hot sub, the firehouse hero specialty sub and the firehouse soups.

 

The two brothers started franchising a year after they opened the first Firehouse Subs. Today there are nearly 600 restaurants in the USA. Firehouse Subs is one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands. The company plans to expand aggressively and reach 2,000 units by 2020.

 

Franchisee candidates must be committed to building a profitable business. If they want to open more than one Firehouse Subs unit, they can lock a territory by signing a development contract and paying in advance 50% of the franchise fee for each additional restaurant /the money is non-refundable/.

 

Franchisees undergo extensive training programs. They receive business counseling on sales and operations, research and development, site development and construction. Marketing and advertising programs are also included. An annual advertising fee is predicted; 2% on local and 1$ on national advertising. Regional campaigns are the result of the collective effort of neighboring franchise owners.
