Am I Suitable as a Franchisee?

Normally franchisors have specific requirements that franchisee candidates need to fulfill. In order to be approved one must fit the profile of a franchisee. The franchisor could be interested in hiring candidates with previous experience, or people who have run their own business, or people who are capable of putting together a business plan, or people who can demonstrate financial solvency. What is more important is that you decide for yourself whether you are suitable for the job or not. Are you willing to do this and nothing else for 5 or 10 years? Are you wiling to put in the long hours, including weekends? Can you be a strict disciplinarian with people and yet inspire them when necessary? Can you count on your family’s support? If your new business is likely to cause significant family problems, don’t even get started. And last but not least – can you afford the investment without breaking the bank, and if you cannot, can you take the financial consequences?
