Restaurant franchise Wingstop announced it is expanding to the Philippines through an area development agreement with Wingstop Philippines, its local partner.
Wingstop plans to grow its business by opening 50 units across the Philippines. The first grand opening is set for the second half of 2014, Wingstop said in a press release.
“The Wingstop brand is a synergistic addition to my group’s [CBTL Holdings] vision of building a portfolio of trustworthy and delightful industry-leading companies,” Walden Chu, president of Wingstop Philippines, said in the press release.
The move is in line with Wingstop’s business plan for international growth. The company recently opened new restaurants in Russia and Singapore and plans to open 85 more by the end of 2014.
“Following a record-breaking year of development in 2013, the demand for Wingstop continues to flourish around the globe,” Wingstop’s Chief Development Officer Dave Vernon said. “This agreement puts us well on our way to what we expect to be another record year of growth for Wingstop.”
Wingstop was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Four years later the company began franchising. It runs some 600 restaurants across the United States, Mexico, Russia and Singapore, the majority of which are operated by franchisees.
The Wingstop restaurants offer cooked-to-order wings with 10 distinctive flavours.
