IHG signs expands by three franchise deals in Turkey

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) said it has signed franchise contracts for three Holiday Inn hotels with different partners in business districts in Turkey’s two largest cities.   

IHG has signed with local Aska Otomotiv ve Petrol Urunleri Tic to open a 140-room Holiday Inn Ankara Çukurambar in the capital Ankara in 2014. The facility will have a 660-square metre banquet room and multiple meeting rooms, a relaxing spa, gym, bar and restaurant.

The hotel group plans to open two hotels in Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city. It has signed franchise agreements with new owner Defne Otelcilik ve Turizm for a Holiday Inn Istanbul Kadikoy due to open in 2014 and with Troyka Turizm Otelcilik ve Insaat  for a Holiday Inn Istanbul Tuzla Bay , which will start operations in 2016.

The two hotels will be in newly-constructed buildings, strategically located in business centers in proximity to transportation networks.

Holiday Inn Istanbul Kadikoy will have 127 rooms including four suites, a mini gym, bar and restaurant while Holiday Inn Istanbul Tuzla Bay will have 140 rooms and will be located in the Asian side of Istanbul.

There are 282 Holiday Inn hotels in Europe with a further 35 in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years.
