Culver is a top brand in the restaurant industry for a reason. The restaurant’s work revolves around professionalism and customer satisfaction. Culver monitors restaurant owners strictly to ensure they provide the best service and products. The company’s philosophy is to provide quality food, hospitality and service the community.

Culver’s menu features delicious choices of burgers and sandwiches, but the most popular items are the signature ButterBurgers and the Fresh Frozen Custard. Both items were introduced in 1984 when the first Culver restaurant opened. Custard is made with fresh ingredients in small batches every day. Customers can choose between three varieties of custard – vanilla, chocolate and flavor of the day which is different each day and in each store.

Culver started franchising in 1988. There are 457 restaurants in 19 states, all of which are owned and operated by franchisees. Entrepreneurs who want to join the company have to be enthusiastic and be ready to lead their teams in accordance with the company’s standards. They are expected to commit full-time to their career. In return, they keep their independence while they benefit from an established operating system, strong brand and all-time support. Culver provides opportunities for development to driven entrepreneurs. Approximately 30% of all franchisees own more than one restaurant.

Franchisees start by spending six days at a Culver restaurant to get actual experience of what is to come. They go through an intensive 16-week training program which includes classroom learning and at-site experience. At the ButterBurger University they learn how to position their restaurant, how to open it and how to sustain their business.

Franchisee pay 2% of gross sales to Culver’s Advertising Fund for collective marketing efforts. They are also required to spend additional 1% on local advertising.

Culver is famous for its ButterBurgers and Fresh Frozen Custard. Custard is made freshly in stores in three varieties – vanilla, chocolate and flavor of the day which could be anything from Egg Nog Brickle to Double Caramel Chocolate Peanut.
